Frequently Asked Questions

Which archive formats are supported?

ZIP, RAR (both RAR4 and RAR5), 7Z, TAR, GZ, TGZ, BZ2, XZ, ISO, and Korean EGG (ALZip) archives. Multi-volume archives (part1, z01) and password-protected files are not supported yet.

Can I extract RAR files without WinRAR?

Yes. You can extract RAR files directly in your browser without installing WinRAR or any other software. Both the older RAR4 and the current RAR5 format are supported.

Does it work on iPhone, Android, or Mac?

Yes. Everything runs in the browser, so it works on iPhone Safari, Android Chrome, and Mac without installing any app.

How large an archive can I extract?

Up to 1GB per file. Because extraction runs in your device's memory, archives of several hundred MB are more reliable on a desktop than on a phone. If memory runs out, the tool shows a clear error instead of handing you a partially extracted file.

Can I extract password-protected archives?

Not yet. If you upload an encrypted archive, a clear message will let you know.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Files are never transmitted anywhere - the entire extraction happens inside your browser, so even sensitive documents stay on your device.
